Police were called to a hotel located at 1910 Andover Street in Tewksbury when Patrick Buckley, of Methuen, refused to check out of his room on Saturday, May 13 at around 12 p.m., according to the Tewksbury Police Department.
Hotel employees informed police that 36-year-old Buckley was "unruly."
Officers arrived to find an "enraged" Buckley shouting and refusing to check out or re-book his hotel room for another night, police said.
Buckley then assaulted the officers, spitting on one, spitting on and punching a second, and punching a third.
He was arrested and transported to a local hospital to be evaluated. Neither Buckley nor the officers sustained serious injuries.
Buckley is charged with:
- Three counts of assault and battery on a police officer
- Disorderly conduct
- Resisting arrest
He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Lowell District Court.
